IAGA Summer School 2019

Deadline for application: 31 October 2018

The 4th IAGA School will be held from July 6 to 11 in St. Hubert near Montreal, Quebec, Canada, just before the IUGG General Assembly.

It aims at providing excellent early career scientists (mainly PhD students) with a good basic understanding of a wide range of the scientific topics covered by IAGA (see also www.iaga-aiga.org/index.php for more details).

The school aims at providing PhD-students and young Post-Docs working in all kind of IAGA-topic backgrounds with an overview over the paleo- and geomagnetism, magnetospheric and atmospheric topics covered by the six IAGA divisions. The lectures will cover a day or half a day, and (if a full day) ideally include some sort of (computer) exercises where the students can get some hands-on experience e.g. in working with real data. We expect to have between 20 and 30 participants in the school. IAGA will sponsor about 24 early career scientists for accommodation and cost of living.

We are seeking nominations of excellent early career scientists from Division VI. IAGA Division VI Committee invites young scientists to send theirapplication form to DC chair Nick Palshin by October 31.
